Asif Akbar is a Bangladeshi pop singer and better known heart breaking song .His debut album was released 30 January 2001 and was a great hit and acquired a lot of popularity for him in Bangladesh with the hit song 'Oh Priya Tumi Kothay .

Twenty-five solo albums were to follow dueting alongside singers Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Bappa Majumdar, Dolly Shaontoni, Suzana ansar sonia, kaniz suborna, Munni, Monir Khan and many others He retired from commercial singing on 17/03/2010 .

Trivia to Asif Akbar (Prem Pagal ) :-

Asif possesses an amazing voice, though he never received any formal training. Iftekhar Hossain Pintu introduced Asif to the music composer, Shawkat Ali Imon, who not only appreciated his tonal quality but also pointed out the minor flaws. Eventually, Asif began his career as a playback singer. Soon, he met Ithun Babu and from then on did not have to look back. His first solo album, O Priya Tumi Kothay created a ripple in the music industry. He has made 52 albums within the three years of his career, nine of which are solo albums.

Asif describes himself to be an honest person. He talks about the struggle to reach his current success and says that while he has not changed as a person, there have been changes only in his financial status.

Asif wants to establish himself internationally and is now advancing on the path to this goal. To quote him, 'An artiste has to be very hard working. One has to have the basic knowledge regarding the art of singing. Besides, one also has to concentrate 100 percent and be committed to this art. Asif and his supportive wife recently completed twelve years of their marriage and have two sons.
